SEO Report [1]

Hi

The SEO scene changes rapidly and continuously. Keeping abreast of what is new is a full time job. A lot of hot air blows around the Internet - the main problem is knowing whom to trust. This was summed up magnificently when I read the quote: "Two SEOs, Three opinions". As I sift through the latest recommended practices, I will publish my conclusions onto my new website:

http://www.drkyte.com

On this site, you will find articles and videos about SEO and Content Management Systems (Drupal). This site is itself a Drupal site. Check out the Video Audit section. If you would like your site audited, drop me a line. A couple of great modules available in Drupal are: the tinymce visual editor and the newsletter module. This article was created using the WYSIWYG editor and then sent out to my subscribers using the newsletter module.

Can you do this with your site?

An interesting video I came across recently was the presentation by Matt Cutts talking at a Wordpress conference. He is the chief Google spam engineer. He explained that the Google indexing algorithm as yet could not handle underscores in URLs i.e. that

seo_workshop would be interpreted as one word seoworkshop, where as

seo-workshop was split into two words seo workshop.

So in future, when you design your web pages - use dashes not underscores.

By the way - if you are considering going back to change the existing URLs take care, simply renaming
URLs will leave pages that can't be found in the Google index - and that is not good. You need to do a
301 permanent redirect on those old URLs pointing to the new pages.

It's cool Cool to be number 1 on Google, and 2, and 3 ..... and 12 . The image below is not meant to show off, but to inspire you. Yes this is a long tail keyword phrase - Go get yours!
