All companies have the same Goals - find more customers and convert them. It is rare these days to find a company that does not have a website, unless they are very new. Even then one of their first jobs is to build that site. One of the most familiar comments I hear is "we are rebuilding our site". The mentality of directors is build it and forget it - then 2 years later rebuild it and forget it. Websites should be dynamic and forever changing. These days I encourage clients to think SEO first, and construct their sites from an SEO perspective. [SEO Questions that need answers]
The tools exist these days ( many for free!) for administrators and marketing people to change your web site daily - and I don't mean the News Page that we updated 18 months ago when we reported that fred had left. Content Management Systems [CMS] enable you to create sites that are up to date, expanding and informative.
We all know that blogs are one of the hottest publishing activities in man's internet history - yet how many corporates have departmental blogs? Most CMS systems have blog tools included.
CMS sites and Blogs are bread and butter for the search engines. Google likes blogs with links, Google likes fresh content. When you redesign your website again - which you surely will, ensure that this redesign is your last - that you can change, build and grow your site without employing a web designer. Then in 2 years time you can just change the template to make it look '09, and all the content is still there.
On this site you will find articles on SEO, Drupal and Video. These will build in the next few months, so come back soon.
