The 3rd part of the internet video tutorial has just been released. This tutorial quickly goes through the steps needed to record audio using the free program - Audacity. If you are new to creating video for the net, then create the audio first, then paste slides over the top using a video editor, like movie maker,  or Magix Pro Video Editor.

I am publishing an Internet Video Workshop using only free software. The purpose is to take newbies through the process of creating a reasonable video using purely free tools. This assumes the newbie uses windows XP and invests a small amount of money on a USB headset.

I was asked by a friend to prove the statement that google treats dashes like spaces in url's but not underscores. Well this video demonstrates this perfectly.

Matt Cutts is a google spam engineer. This video is a presentation of Whitehat SEO tips for bloggers, presented at the Wordcamp 2007 conference.

Best take away for me is the difference between dashes and underscores. Apparently google can't split muilti words in the URL eg SEO_workshop and considers it SEOworkshop, however it can split on dashes. Hence create your URL .../SEO-workshop.

This site is built using a CMS (content management system), in this case Drupal (www.drupal.org).

CMSs are great for managing general websites as well as private membership subscription sites. In the past I had a private horse training site with over 6000 paying customers - built using the Zope platform. Overtime I plan to create camtasia videos as I setup new membership sites and document the various modules, themes and tools available within drupal. I have used other CMSs such as Zope and Joomla - but have found limitations with them.
